PARENTS THAT MEANS YOU TO - ITS GREAT FUN

Abergavenny is fortunate to have a thriving Mini and Junior section. Through the years many talented players have developed through these sections into youth and senior rugby. This seasons senior sides are bristling with talent whose skills have been developed through the Mini and Junior sections.
The club owes a great debt of gratitude to those parents who over the years have given up their time to participate. They are a few brief years in each section as children grow up so quickly. It can be very rewarding when one fully participates in the progress of the children, be it coaching, refereeing or committee work. Its not just Dads but Mums take part in coaching, first aid and preparing meals after games also.
This season 2009/2010 the club enjoys a full compliment of Junior and Min sides through from Under 8 to Under 16. Check out individual squad pages for details of coaches and contacts.

Many years of hard work have led to this position with parents and committee alike striving to make rugby happen in the town for children.
There is an active committee in both the Mini Section U8 - U12 and a Junior section committee U13 - U16.
Parents are encouraged to get as involved as possible and offer their time and skills to enhance the environment for the players in their relevant section. Parents who would like to take a more active part are encouraged to contact the secretary or any committee member from the relevant section (see contact us).
Coaches, referees, first aiders, and even food hygiene courses are available to enable parents to take a more active part. All fees for courses will be reimbursed by the relevant section. Tours and a large end of season tournament (see tournament page) require much planning and each committee needs members with a mix of skills, time and entusiasm to make things happen.
Everybody is welcome to come and support the young players of Abergavenny on a Sunday Morning. Most games KO at 11am. See the commitment that all the children through all the junior and mini sections give for the club. With the strength in depth of the young players at the club at the moment it bodes well for the future of the club. |
